Our Story.

Bruno Fonseca is a father, a cook, a dog lover, and executive chef of the highly acclaimed 10 course menu confiance style dinner - Foreigner Restaurant.

Back In 2019, Bruno, a Brazilian immigrant with a Spanish, Italian and Portuguese background, decided to start a series of pop-up dinners that mirrored his culinary experiences beginning with his mother’s table as a child and all through his career as a chef (working for some of the most recognizable culinary establishments in the United States).

The project rapidly gained popularity within the local community, and Bruno, along with his partners Johnny, and Jimmy Tung, realized that a permanent location that could truly bring his concept to life was inevitable. Almost 4 years later, we were thrilled to have opened our doors in the trendy neighborhood of Audubon Park in Orlando, but before the Foreigner would be fully realized- first came our elegant 40 sq ft seafood temple.

Bruno’s Oysters.

An eight minute commute from his house, with it’s gorgeous patio shaded by grand oak trees- an opportunity tugged at the heart strings of Chef Bruno. Crooked Can is one of our chef’s favorite breweries to frequent, and when presented with the opportunity to open a small operation inside the Barrel Room- he couldn’t refuse.

Despite Chef Bruno’s success with his tasting menu concept, he still yearned to create an intimate- yet casual dinning experience where friends, and family can come in- no reservations or stuffy dress code required; and enjoy honest/simple food (along with a really nice beer), and have a great time.

Thus our oyster bar was also inevitable, and we hope that you come in to join us for an unforgettable experience!
